babble. — a messenger app for parallel chatting
The babble. app is a simple and straight-forward messenger app. It’s strength lies in a clean and minimalistic interface paired with a quirky iconography, featuring the innovative UI solution of parallel chats, introduced in 2017 by Daniel Korpai.
I wanted my design to be simple and straight forward, yet make babble. stand out from the dozens of other messenger apps out there. I was trying to find inspiration to make my design unique in a way that would benefit and entice potential users.
After doing some research, I came across an innovative UI solution, designed by Daniel Korpai, called “Parallel Chat”. The basic idea is that the user can switch between multiple chats right in the chat header, as conversations often run
parallel to each other.
Adding notification bubbles to mark incoming messeges right in the carrousel, refined the idea further.
